Start with the work, not the model
The useful question is not, 'Where can we add AI?' It is, 'Where does the same information get copied, checked, corrected, and explained again?' Those handoffs reveal the best opportunities to reduce rework.
Keep people accountable for judgment
AI can help organize information, compare versions, flag missing inputs, and prepare drafts. It should not hide who reviewed the result or who is responsible for the final decision.
Preserve traceability
Teams need to know which source was used, what changed, what remains unresolved, and who approved the output. Traceability turns automation into a controllable operating process.
Measure operational outcomes
Useful measures are ordinary: less duplicate entry, fewer avoidable corrections, shorter handoffs, clearer exception handling, and more time for work that requires expertise.
